Flying Carpet Studio creates custom rugs that are designed and handcrafted to your individual taste and needs.
Custom Ordering Process
- The process begins with a personal consultation and a look at our gallery of rugs in order to determine what type of rug is best for you Flat Woven Tapestry or Tufted Loop Pile.
- The
next step is to look at what design elements you would like to
incorporate into your rug. Based on your choices we then return
to the studio and begin to design your one-of-a-kind rug.
- Inspired
by photographs, paint samples and fabrics from your home,
Carol Sobieniak uses gouache paints to illustrate a series of design
options. Special attention is
given to creating a custom
palette of colors that will beautifully complement your furniture and
furnishings.
Custom Rug Schedule of Payment
Custom commissions begin 3 to 6 months in advance and require a $250.00 deposit. This deposit is applied to the design fee and to book work time. Once the deposit is received, Flying Carpet Studio begins the conceptual phase and submits illustrated ideas and yarn color choices for review. After final approval of the rug design a 50% deposit of the balance due is required to start your rug project. The remaining balance is due upon completion, and must be received before shipping.

Design Fee: $250.00
Flat Woven Tapestry Rugs: $110- $125 sq. ft.
Tufted Loop Pile: $110 - $120 sq.ft.
Shipping
All rugs are shipped UPS ground unless otherwise arranged.
**Prices vary depending on the complexity of the design, and the size and number of color changes. Lower prices are for custom rugs made from a design adapted from a gallery page by adjusting colors and size only.
